Heikki Kovalainen: From F1 Star to a New Chapter

Heikki Kovalainen who was very talented driver, he started his career in Formula 1 driving for the French Team, Renault.

He replaced the double-champion Fernando Alonso, following the impressive run in GP, Briatore signed him.

He secured just one podium finish at the Japanese GP in 2007.

Again, the man who replaced Alonso at Renault, again Kovalainen replaced Alonso at McLaren in 2008.

He had an amazing season there, winning at the Hungarian GP, and helping his team-mate Lewis Hamilton during the season to secure the championship.

At the end of 2013 he retired from Formula 1.

In 2015 he started to compete at the Japanese Super GT series, driving for Lexus team. It didn’t took long for the Finnish driver as he won the championship title in 2016.

He didn’t stop there he also competed on endurance events, he has participated in the races like the Suzuka 1000km, Kovalainen continued to live his dream life in motorsport.

He also remains connected with motorsport world charing his experiences through media appereances and interviews.

His life beyond the track, he has a quieter life and shares personal adventures on social media. He is also a big fan of golf. He also is dedicated to fitness, and his passion for motorsport doesn’t stop.


However, Kovalainen could have done more if he continued at McLaren in 2010, but sadly McLaren signed Jenson Button, who was the champion of 2009 in Formula 1.
