Verstappen Explodes in Interview After Spanish GP Clash with Russell

Max Verstappen has been hit with a 10-second time penalty following a collision with George Russell during the Spanish Grand Prix. The incident marks another chapter in the growing rivalry between Red Bull and Mercedes as tensions flared on track in Barcelona.

The drama began during the safety car restart, where Verstappen and Russell made contact at Turn 1. Verstappen ran wide and appeared to gain an advantage by going off-track, prompting an immediate review by the race stewards. After consideration, officials ruled no further action was necessary for that initial contact.

However, later in the race, a second clash between the two drivers occurred, this time resulting in damage to Russell’s car and drawing stronger scrutiny from race control. Verstappen was deemed at fault for the incident and was subsequently handed a 10-second time penalty.
